Accept an invite
Accept an organization invite with the right address and learn how your network access is granted.
In nixscale, invites are sent to an organization. When you accept one, you become a member of the organization; access to a network comes either right away or when an admin adds you to that network, depending on your role.
The invite email
When someone invites you, you get an email from [email protected] with a subject like "… invited you to … on nixscale". It shows the organization's name, the role you'll get and the date the invite expires. Invites are valid for 14 days.
Accept the invite
Open the link in the email
Click the "View invite" button in the email.
Sign in with the invited address
The invite belongs to the address the email was sent to. Sign in with that address. If you don't have an account, use the "Create a free one" link in the email to sign up with the same address, then confirm the verification email you receive.
Accept
On the Your invites page, click Accept next to the invite. The organization's page opens.
Your pending invites also appear on the panel home page under Your pending invites.
After you accept
Your network access depends on the role in the invite:
| Role | Network access |
|---|---|
| Member | You don't get access to any network automatically. When an admin adds you to a network, you get a "You were added to …" email; then install Tailscale and connect your device. |
| Admin | You see and manage every network in the organization; you don't need to be added to them. |
| Owner | Everything an admin can do, plus renaming the organization and granting the owner role. |
For a full comparison of roles, see Members and roles.
Decline the invite
If you don't want to join, click Decline. The invite is deleted; nothing else about your account changes.
Troubleshooting
The invite has expired
An expired invite no longer appears and can't be accepted. Ask the person who invited you to send a new one.
I get an error when accepting
A suspended organization can't accept new members. Contact the organization's owner.
