Command list
Every Tailscale command you need with nixscale on one page, with per-operating-system notes.
This page collects the commands you need while using nixscale. They're the same on all three operating systems. Commands that only read status (status, ip, ping, version) need no privileges; for commands that change the connection (up, down, login, logout, set), put sudo in front of them on Linux.

Status and address
tailscale statustailscale ip -4tailscale versionTurning the connection on and off
tailscale downtailscale uptailscale logoutAfter tailscale down, tailscale up needs no new key; after tailscale logout, you need a new key from the panel.
Profiles (several networks)
tailscale switch --listtailscale switch profile-nameSharing a local network (gateway)
sudo tailscale up --login-server=https://k7mp.hs.nixscale.com --authkey=<key> --advertise-routes=192.168.10.0/24sudo tailscale up --accept-routesAn advertised network has to be approved in the panel: Share a local network.
Operating system notes
Commands run in Terminal and don't need sudo. In the Standalone app, enable the command-line tool under Settings → CLI integration; in the App Store version, define an alias:
alias tailscale="/Applications/Tailscale.app/Contents/MacOS/Tailscale"Commands run in PowerShell or Command Prompt. A terminal that was open before the installation doesn't know the new command; close it and open a new one.
Put sudo in front of the commands. If you get "failed to connect to local tailscaled", start the service:
sudo systemctl enable --now tailscaledTesting connectivity
ping 100.112.0.2ping needs ICMP to be allowed in the rules. You can also try the device name: ping office-gateway.
